ALL RISE

Stand-up Women in Hoosier History

Help us in our efforts to support future female leaders in Indiana!

IndyBar’s Women and the Law Division Past Chair, Andrea Ciobanu, wanted to find a way to motivate future female leaders in Indiana while honoring trailblazing Hoosier women, past and present. The WLD executive committee decided to create a coloring book about many of the inspirational women from our State. The project took more than three years to produce. Finally, in late 2024 (after hundreds of volunteer hours drawing, designing, and writing the story) the book was launched and became a roaring success. Since distributing the very first order, WLD has been unable to keep up with the demand as more and more Hoosiers request copies. To date, the coloring books have been distributed to schools, museums, community organizations, scout troops, and in free Courthouse libraries all over the State.

The coloring book features women from the legal community including Antionette Dakin Leach, Sarah Evans Barker, Loretta H. Rush, Nancy H. Vadik, Cynthia Ayers, and more. The book also highlights community leaders and historically significant Hoosiers like Eva Kor.

The art for the coloring book was designed by Natalie Marchal, founder of Komorebi Studies LLC and daughter of Hon. Helen Marchal.

Want to support this project so we can continue to provide coloring books at no-cost to young women across the State? Now you can!
